great, thank you!!
Millipedes arrived and most have been very active as soon as introduced into the enclosure. Only one has remained in the container which I have left inside the tub in the enclosure incase it's molting. I've seen it move from the side of the container and appears well. Excellent communication with the sellers, who who quick to reply to my many questions and were also happy to send me male only millipedes to my request. Additionally all these millipedes and other invertebrates are bred in captivity by the sellers. My only issue in the ordering process was with royal mail delaying the delivery, so please be mindful when ordering animals that they may not arrive in 24 hours and to make plans accordingly to ensure you are in. I must emphasise this was no fault of The Bug Room but just wanted to make other customers aware for future orders.
Live millipedes on arrival. Nicety packaged and healthy looking.
No problems at all with this order. Millipedes arrived on time and very lively. Would recommend this business.
Brilliant customer service, replied rapidly to emails and offered the best advice. I ordered all the necessary components for my set up, as well as 4 ivory millipede, which all came in perfect condition. Even got two locus for free. Definitely will be ordering through them again whenever I need more supplies!!
Chicobolus spinigerus "Ivory" Millipedes
Chicobolus spinigerus "Ivory" Millipedes are a fantastic small-medium sized species of millipede. Great fun to watch as they are very active above the surface and have a great appetite.
These millipedes do well at average UK room temperatures (around 20°C), though they will thrive at 22 - 24°C.
In terms of humidity for Chicobolus spinigerus "Ivory" Millipedes, somewhere between 65 - 80% is perfect.
For an adult Chicobolus spinigerus "Ivory" Millipede or a group you will need to ensure you have and adequately sized enclosure as they reach 7-10cm in length and like to have space to climb branches and explore.
Chicobolus spinigerus "Ivory" Millipedes enjoy a variety of foods such as washed and peeled vegetable scraps, though the stable of their diet should be leaf litter, rotten hardwoods and flake soil. We also like to ensure they have access to a good source of calcium, we would recommend either cuttlebone, eggshells or oyster shells. We supplement our "Burmese Beauty" Millipedes with dried shrimp for additional protein too.
Please note: All millipedes are captive bred by us here at The Bug Room. It is important for hobbyists to purchase captive bred animals over wild caught species wherever possible.
If you would like any information prior to placing an order, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always happy to answer questions or give some advice from our own experience.
