Pseudoglomeris magnifica (Emerald Cockroach)
The Emerald Cockroach is one of the most striking species available in the invertebrate hobby. Native to Southeast Asia, this beautiful species is renowned for its metallic emerald-green coloration, giving it a jewel-like appearance unlike any other cockroach. Adult females retain their vivid green armour-like appearance, whilst mature males develop wings and are capable of short flights.
A largely arboreal species, Pseudoglomeris magnifica thrives in warm, humid enclosures with plenty of cork bark, branches and leaf litter to explore. They are primarily active during the day, making them excellent display animals for naturalistic and bioactive setups.
Although slower growing and slower breeding than many commonly kept roaches, their stunning appearance and fascinating behaviour make them a rewarding species for keepers looking for something truly unique.
